Description
Associate Veterinarian (DVM) | Privately Owned, AAHA-Accredited Practice
Animal Hospital of Rowlett & Animal Hospital of Heath | Rowlett / Heath, Texas
Great Medicine. Great People. A Life Outside of Work.
Are you looking for a veterinary practice where you can practice high-quality medicine, continue to grow professionally, and actually enjoy coming to work?
We might be exactly what you’re looking for!
Animal Hospital of Rowlett and Animal Hospital of Heath are independently owned, women-owned small animal practices serving the communities just east of Dallas. We’ve been caring for pets and building relationships since 1988, and we’re proud to have remained privately owned in an increasingly corporate veterinary world.
We’re always interested in meeting exceptional veterinarians who share our commitment to excellent medicine, compassionate care, and a collaborative workplace.
Whether you’re an experienced veterinarian looking for a refreshing change or a new graduate ready to begin your career, we’d love to meet you.
Why Our Hospitals?
We’re an established, multi-doctor practice with a talented support team, experienced colleagues, and a culture that values both clinical excellence and the people providing it.
Work-Life Balance That Actually Means Something
Four-day workweek with rotating Saturdays.
A rotating four-day weekend every eight weeks!
Generous paid time off and vacation.
No Sundays, overnight emergencies, or on-call duties.
Paid continuing education and opportunities for professional development.
A leadership team that understands there’s more to life than work.
Exceptional Medicine & Professional Growth
AAHA accreditation for more than 25 years and Gold-Level Cat Friendly certification.
Experienced veterinarians who genuinely enjoy collaborating, discussing cases, and sharing knowledge.
Advanced diagnostics and procedures, including digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, laparoscopy, in-house laboratory testing, and access to orthopedic surgery.
Opportunities to pursue your clinical interests, whether those include internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, ultrasound, feline medicine, or developing additional skills.
Support for new graduates through mentorship, clinical collaboration, and opportunities to build confidence and independence.
A commitment to low-stress patient care, respectful communication, and the well-being of our veterinary team.
What Makes Us Different?
We’re not interested in being the biggest veterinary company. We’re interested in being an excellent veterinary hospital.
We believe veterinarians should have a voice in how medicine is practiced. We value relationships over transactions, thoughtful clinical decision-making, and an environment where doctors can ask questions, share ideas, and practice medicine with integrity.
Our leadership team is accessible and actively involved in the hospitals. We’re proud of our experienced doctors, our dedicated staff, and the relationships we’ve built with generations of clients.
And we believe you should have time to enjoy the life you’re working so hard to build. With a four-day workweek, generous paid time off, and an additional rotating four-day weekend every eight weeks, we strive to make work-life balance a reality rather than just a recruiting slogan.
